The Energy Savings Scheme (ESS), which provides individuals and companies with financial incentives to participate in energy conservation projects, is designed to reduce electricity consumption in New South Wales. As a citizen of New South Wales, you may take advantage of various energy-saving enhancements, including replacing downlights with LEDs.

The ESS Rule offers the Home Energy Efficiency Retrofits (HEER) mechanism for upfront deeming energy savings from renovations conducted at residential and small business locations, including replacing inefficient lighting. HEER has permitted Ecosavers to carry out these upgrades. It enables us to provide you with reduced-energy goods and services. ACPS enterprises recognised by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) carry out particular energy-saving operations under the ESS. ACPs operate independently and are not considered government employees or representatives in New South Wales.

The original energy saver must designate an ACP as the energy saver to conduct the upgrade and generate Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs). One may only nominate for the same improvement once, and one must make it before the job's conclusion. The ACP or their authorised representatives must install all equipment to guarantee that the installation is performed safely by certified and qualified professionals.

In addition, the ESS Regulation specifies the types of lights one may install in this manner. Before utilising them in an update, IPART must approve the use of specific lighting items.

On the HEER Lighting Requirements page, you can find more information on how Accredited Certificate Providers accredited to utilise the Home Energy Efficiency Retrofits technique can apply to have equipment recognised

Benefits

Installing more energy-efficient lighting can reduce your lighting expenditures by up to 90 per cent.

Current advancements in lighting technology, such as LEDs and CFLs, allow your home's lighting to be powered more effectively.

Not only will the newest lighting technology will lower your energy bill and cut your maintenance expenses because it is more durable.

The government of New South Wales is committed to supporting households and businesses in lowering their power bills by offering financial incentives for replacing outmoded lighting equipment.

By participating, you may save money on upgrading expenses, lower your energy bill, and protect the environment.

How does it works?

The NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) provides financial incentives for families and companies in NSW to install energy-efficient equipment and appliances.

An Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP) generates an energy-saving certificate or ESC (pronounced "esky") for each notional Megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy saved by the project.

Mandatory Scheme Participants, i.e., Electricity Retailers, acquire and return these certificates to satisfy their statutory objectives imposed by the NSW Government. There is no catch; simply take advantage of the Government Offer and enjoy lower power rates!
